The Petone Rotary Fair is Petone Rotary's Principal Fundraising Event.
The Fair gives Petone Rotary the ability to support many community groups and charities, not only in the immediate area but also throughout New Zealand and abroad.
A few examples of how we help:
- International Scholarships - Petone Rotary sponsors youth exchange students internationally
- Leadership - Petone Rotary sponsors young people to leadership development courses throughout New Zealand
- Family Focused Initiatives - Women's Refuge, Foodbank, Gift of Green, The Incredible Years Trust, Books in Homes, Thumbs Up Trust, Te Omanga Hospice, Petone Air Training Corps and Sea Cadets, the Cancer Foundation, Red Puppy Appeal
- Local Civil Defence water storage - Petone Rotary upgraded the capacity of Petone Central School water tanks
- Neighbourhood Support program - Petone Rotary & Petone Community Patrol working together.
- Books in Homes - we continue to help with literacy and providing children with the tools they need to succeed
- The Arts - Petone Rotary supports chamber music workshops for secondary school students
- Science & Technology - Petone Rotary sponsors young achievers to Science & Technology forums throughout New Zealand
- Shelter Boxes - Major disasters have all Rotary Clubs sending vital supplies to local and international destinations
- Ambulances to the Pacific Islands - Taveuni in Fiji and Ghizo in the Solomon Islands
Petone Rotary is extremely grateful for all our sponsors, stall holders and the public for the amazing support the Fair gets and without which our ability to help others would be far more challenging.
